You're going to Vegas! (Can I tag along? 😉) The excitement of planning your trip is setting in, and you’re ready to hit the Strip. The best investment I've ever made? A quick flight from San Diego to Las Vegas, sparing myself the misery of a long, hot drive back without AC in the summer. Trust me, it’s worth it!

When choosing where to stay in Las Vegas, two factors usually stand out: cost and location. After staying in various spots on the Strip, I’ve found that each hotel has its pros and cons. If you're an avid gambler with a favorite casino, staying nearby can be convenient. However, if you're just looking for a great place to stay without blowing your budget, the options are plentiful. And if lounging poolside is part of your Vegas dream, make sure to pick a hotel with the pool experience you're after. Here are seven top picks for places to stay on the Strip that won’t break the bank.

1. MGM Grand & The Signature at MGM Grand

If you're a fan of pool days, MGM Grand is the perfect spot with its iconic Lazy River. On a scorching summer day, there's nothing better than grabbing a drink (perhaps one of those yard-long frozen cocktails) and floating along while enjoying some top-tier people-watching. Both MGM Grand and its more private, condo-style counterpart, The Signature at MGM Grand, offer access to this fantastic pool complex.

MGM Grand is a great hotel & casino, with room rates that won’t leave you penniless. Their Two-Queen Suites are ideal for groups, with plenty of space featuring a couch and a sitting area.

The Signature at MGM Grand gives you a more private, apartment-like feel for about the same price as MGM Grand. It's connected to the main MGM casino, so you don't even have to step outside to get there. If you’re in a large group, you can even get adjoining rooms with a shared entryway for extra convenience.

2. The Venetian & The Palazzo

For spacious suites that don’t require you to sit on each other’s beds, The Venetian and The Palazzo are fantastic choices. Located across from Treasure Island, these all-suite hotels offer plenty of room to relax.

With a luxurious Italian theme, the ambiance in these hotels is amazing, making them among my favorites in Las Vegas. The casinos have plenty of gaming options, too, from slots to tables.

3. Harrah’s

Harrah’s offers affordable stays just south of The Venetian. This property features a fun, laid-back atmosphere, and their casino often has lower table limits, making them perfect for budget-friendly gambling. Harrah’s rooms could use a little sprucing up, but for the price, they offer good value.

Carnaval Court, nestled between Harrah's and The LINQ, is a hidden gem on the Strip. With $10 blackjack tables and live entertainment, it's the perfect spot for affordable fun. Even in the heat of summer, the misters keep things cool, making it a great place to enjoy the game, the lively atmosphere, and some outdoor entertainment without breaking a sweat. Definitely a must-visit for a laid-back, Vegas experience!

4. The LINQ Hotel

Right next to Harrah's, The LINQ Hotel offers another budget-friendly option. The casino is lively and features a mix of both classic and new table games and slots. It’s also home to The High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, for unbeatable views of the Las Vegas skyline.

One of my all-time favorite spots for Blackjack is O'Shea’s, located in The LINQ. With $10 tables, fun dealers, beer pong, sports, and an Irish bar, it's the ideal spot to hang out and win a few hands. Plus, In-N-Out Burger is just steps away!

5. Park MGM

A hidden gem on the Strip, Park MGM (formerly Monte Carlo) has undergone a complete makeover. Now, it’s a modern, vibrant hotel with updated rooms and a fun casino atmosphere.

Eataly Las Vegas at Park MGM is a must-visit, offering a high-end Italian food hall with fresh dishes, counter service, and groceries, all within the hotel’s entrance from the Strip.

6. New York-New York Hotel & Casino

Directly across the street from MGM Grand, New York-New York is a clean, affordable hotel with a fun NYC-themed casino.

For a unique experience, try out The Big Apple Coaster, which zips around the outside of the hotel. It’s a thrilling ride for anyone looking to add some excitement to their Vegas trip!

No matter where you decide to stay on the Strip, Las Vegas offers an endless supply of entertainment, bright lights, and fun. Whether you're there to gamble, relax by the pool, or indulge in the incredible dining and nightlife, you'll have a blast.
